Newlands Spring Primary School has the current vacancies below:

1. Midday Assistants 

Hours:  1.25 hours/day (flexible) Variable Term time only                                        Start Date: As soon as possible

Do you enjoy working with children? Are you a ‘people person’ who likes being part of a supportive team? If so, we would love to meet you.

We are looking for people who are kind and enthusiastic to join our wonderful team of midday staff. Your job would involve working with our Play Leader to support children in organised activities on the playground, helping to make sure that all of our children have a positive lunchtime experience. You may also be needed to supervise children in the dinner hall while eating their lunch.

The role can be flexible so whether you would like to work every day, just two or three days each week or would just like to be available to cover staff absence, we would love to hear from you. 2. SEND Learning Support Assistant for Foundation Stage

Hours:  Variable (job shares considered)  Term time only                                        Start Date: As soon as possible

We are looking for Learning Support Assistants with experience of supporting with children with ASD or children who have communication and language needs to work in our Foundation Stage. Experience of dealing with children with individual and complex needs is essential, as is a caring attitude and commitment to the role.

Suitable candidates would need to:

  •  enjoy working with children
  • have a patient and positive approach towards supporting pupils' learning
  • be conscientious and enthusiastic at all times
  •  be able to work on own initiative
  • have a clear understanding of positive behaviour management.

The rate of pay for this post is Local Government Pay Scale Band 2 to mid-point. Pay range £8.82 - £9.16 per hour. (Salary awarded depending on experience and qualifications)

The interview process will include a short activity with a group of pupils.

3. ​SEND Learning Support Assistant (Medical needs)

Hours: Term time only – 30 hours per week (Job share possible)                                               Start Date: As soon as possible.

Are you searching for a rewarding role that would enable you to work during school hours in a friendly and supportive environment?

We are looking for someone who is able to provide support in Key Stage 1, particularly for a child with a medical issue. If you have experience of supporting a person with Epilepsy or are proficient in resuscitation techniques, we would love to hear from you.

Suitable candidates would also need to

  • enjoy working with children
  • have a patient and positive approach towards supporting pupils' learning
  • be conscientious
  • be able to work on own initiative
  • have a clear understanding of positive behaviour management
  • have the ability to remain calm under pressure.

The rate of pay for this post is Local Government Pay Scale Band 2 to mid-point. Pay range £8.82 - £9.16 per hour. (Salary awarded depending on experience and qualifications)

4. Relief Support Staff

We are looking for the following relief staff to join our team:

  • Relief Catering Assistants to join our school kitchen team
  • Reief Midday Assistants to join our lunchtime team
  • Relief Cleaners to join our premises team

Hours: Relief as required and term time only.

Pay Scale: Band 1 - point 7 to 10 - depending on experience

5.  Relief Kid's Club Assistant

Relief staff are required to join the team  in  Springers, the Newlands Spring Primary School before and after school club.  The hours of work will vary, with the opportunity to work additional hours in our Crèche and Holiday Club as well as Cover Staff or other sessions due to staff absence.

Hours: As required - term time only. 

Pay Scale: Band 2 Point 11 to 16 - depending on experience
