Healthy Schools
Newlands Spring Primary and Nursery School recognises that the health and well-being of children is not only vital to their growth and development but contributes to their long term success and achievements. Our school has a significant role to play in ensuring that our pupils get the best life chances. This is why Newlands Spring Primary School is part of the Healthy Schools Network and was pleased to be reaccredited with the Healthy Schools Award in 2016. The school now has its sights on working towards the Enhanced health Schools status. and staff.
Newlands Spring uses a whole school approach to promote the overall health and wellbeing of our pupils, families and staff. The healthy Schools program focuses on four main themes
- Personal, Social and Health Education
- Healthy Eating
- Physical Activity
- Emotional Health and Wellbeing
The whole school approach involves working with children, parents, school staff and the whole school community to provide a solid foundation from which developments and improvements are embedded in a systematic way.
