School Learning Council
At Newlands Spring Primary and Nursery School we feel it is important for children to have a say in their learning and that their opinions and views are listened to and acted up. The children are able to acheive this through the School Learning Council.
The School Learning Council is made up of 2 children from each class from Year 1 to year 6. These children are chosen by their class mates at the start of each academic year. The Learning Council meet every month to improve the learning of all the children in our school.
The aims of the Learning Council are as follows:
- Improve the learning experiences of all children at Newlands Spring Primary and Nursery School
- Make sure that all learning is fun, interesting and engaging
- Ensure that children have a voice in developing the school
The main roles of the Learning Council are:
- Lead on the school's Eco-School application and development
- Create and monitor the children's School Development Plan
Please see our Learning Council board and check back for regular updates to see how the Learning Council develops over the course of the year.
