Charity

Newlands Spring encourages every child to consider those less fortunate than ourselves. The pupils are encouraged to suggest causes to support through their house teams as well as to take on responsibility for the organising and running of fund raising events.

Examples of fund raising events include Bring and Buy Sales, Book Sales, Talent Shows, Cake Sales, Non-uniform days, River of Coins, Sponsored events and Concerts.

During the school year 2015/2016, a total of £1772.46 was raised by the children and distributed to their chosen charities. Charities to benefit this year were BBC Children in Need, Cancer Research UK, Farleigh Hospice, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, Little Havens Children’s Hospice, Macmillan Cancer Support, RSPCA and RSPB. In 2014/2015 the children raised £1353.64.
